Job Summary

To provide a laundering service in support of the hotel services function to ensure a high quality and comprehensive care service is delivered to residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all laundering duties including:
  • Safely store dirty laundry, sorted into appropriate wash loads.
  • Wash, dry and iron all bed linen, table linen and towels which are Home property and personal clothing belonging to residents.
  • Ensure the linen cupboard is well stocked and tidy.
  • Ensure systems for the identification and correct return of personal clothing are effective.
  • General cleanliness of the Laundry area including air filters and equipment.
  • Understand wash guide instructions, laundering requirements of a wide range of textiles and the properties of cleaning materials to ensure that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition
  • Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particularly moving and handling of loads, by assessing risk and having due regard for personal safety and the safety of residents, visitors and staff.
  • Understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work Acts and fire safety and evacuation procedures and demonstrates a working knowledge of COSHH assessments applicable in own work area.
  • Act accordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
  • Contribute fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
  • Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring the timely and appropriate ordering of replacement goods.
  • Take reasonable care of items of equipment used to carry out tasks, including general cleanliness and advising on any faults and the need for maintenance or replacement.
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are stored in a safe and tidy manner.
  • Attend staff meetings and staff training sessions as required.

Job Summary

To provide a domestic cleaning service in support of the hotel services function to ensure a high quality and comprehensive care service is delivered to residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions including:
  • vacuuming, carpet shampooing and washing floor areas stairs and lifts
  • cleaning toilets, baths and washbasins, providing adequate supplies of toilet rolls, soap and hand towels.
  • Polishing and dusting all furniture and fittings
  • Cleaning windows, paintwork and walls
  • Thorough cleaning of vacated rooms ready for re-occupation
  • Removal of rubbish and clinical waste to storage area ready for collection by the appropriate agencies
  • Understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials to ensure that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition

Job Summary

Delivers high standards of personal care, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents in their personal care including toileting, cleaning, bathing, dressing and undressing, ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals.
  • Serve meals and beverages, encouraging and assisting in the feeding of residents require additional attention at mealtimes.
  • Assist residents with restricted mobility to move to dining areas at mealtimes and other communal areas for social activities and stimulation and to the privacy of their bedrooms at their request.
  • Regularly attend to residents with reduced continence control, toileting, cleaning and changing continence pads and removing wet or soiled clothing to ensure the resident remains comfortable and the risk of skin deterioration is reduced and monitored.
  • Carry out care activity in accordance with the care plan for less active and frail residents, particularly turning and moving to reduce the risk of development of pressure sores, as requested by the person in charge.
  • Ensure bedroom areas are kept tidy, pleasant and comfortable by making beds, regularly changing bed linen and emptying commodes.
  • Responsible for the regular cleaning of equipment involved in personal care of residents, including commodes and wheelchairs.

Job Summary

To ensure continuity of care to residents by promoting and delivering high standards of care, individually and safely, and managing, supporting and instructing less experienced staff to enable them to fully contribute to the care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide staff management, mentorship and instruction in care delivery, particularly in relation to the induction of new staff.
  • To enhance and promote the clients quality of life.

Job Summary

To act as person in charge, to stand in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf, ensuring high standards of care to residents in line with company policy & Registration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning of care, delivery and ongoing evaluation of care plans, together with appropriate hand-over, to ensure all residents’ needs are continuously met.
  • Act at all times in line with NMC Code of Professional Conduct & maintain registration requirements.
  • Responsible for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
  • Undertake nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Provide staff support, demonstration and instruction of care activities, particularly in relation to the induction and mentoring of new staff.
  • Participate in taking the residents on their holidays, day outings, weekends away etc, out of the Home. This will involve helping with the planning of such holidays, leading the staff team on holiday with the residents, to ensure the safety of the residents at all times.
  • To ensure that the residents needs are met whilst on holiday, particularly the safe administration of medications whilst away from the Home.
  • Contribute and attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Liaise with health and social care professionals involved in the wellbeing of individual residents to maintain a holistic approach to their care.

  • Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and other relevant legislation.
