Single & Double Bedrooms
Casterbridge Lodge care home offers 34 beautifully designed bedrooms, many of which are en-suite, with several looking out over the lodge’s wonderful gardens. Each room is fully equipped with practical, stylish furnishings achieving a balance between relaxing surroundings and the modern efficiencies required for a good quality of everyday living.
We want every resident to feel that Casterbridge Lodge is their home from home, so residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms and living areas with photos, ornaments, pictures and soft furnishings. These are essential to a sense of continuity in our residents’ lives, helping to nurture cherished memories whilst simultaneously creating new ones.
Our rooms have TV aerial sockets, residents are encouraged to bring their own televisions if they wish. Each room also includes a locked medical cabinet, meaning that all medication required is within easy reach.
Living & Dining Rooms
For those that enjoy the spirit of a bubbling community, our living rooms are designed for comfort and companionship. Whether you’re interested in listening to music, watching TV, playing games or simply chatting to your friends and neighbours, these locations are designed with a variety of environments in mind. They’re ideal for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing space, as well as for occasions with more noisy pursuits in mind.
We’ve arranged our mealtimes in a similar way. Of course, residents are welcome to take their meals in the privacy of their own homes, or with friends and staff in the dining room. We endeavour to cater to a wide range of tastes, from formal to more casual occasions.
Landscaped Gardens and Patios
Casterbridge Lodge is set in a winterbourne valley, couched in an acre of gorgeous Dorset countryside. We have worked hard to bring the tranquillity and beauty of the surroundings into the home and landscaped gardens. For those that are able, or for visiting friends and relatives, the surrounding hills offer wonderful walks through stunning vistas.
Making the most of this gorgeous setting, many of the rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens, and a sun-kissed terrace makes the ideal spot to catch up with friends on warmer days.
Our Scenic Location
Casterbridge Lodge is located in Winterbourne Steepleton, only 4 miles from Dorchester in rural Dorset. Historic local buildings include the parish church, parts of which date to Saxon times, and Steepleton Manor. It is equidistant to Chesil Beach, on the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, and the Cerne Giant, Britain’s largest chalk hill figure, making it an ideal situation for day trips and other outings.
Situated just off the A35, Casterbridge Lodge is well located for visits to Dorchester and Weymouth, Yeovil and Poole.
We have worked hard to ensure that the rolling hills and inspiring views are integrated into the design of the home and its gardens, providing residents and their visitors with a welcome connection with the surrounding countryside.
